Intro to Aerial

Intro to Aerial class. Come get an introduction to silks and lyra to be prepared for upcoming classes. Learn basics from climbing silks and mounting lyra. This is required before taking group classes, unless given permission by the instructor.

Open Aerial

This is an opportunity to work on skills you have learned during the week. There will be an instructor present, but no lesson. You must be a currently enrolled student or have special permission from Dana Smith to attend open aerial.

Combo classes by trimester

This class if for people who want to do it all! We will work on silks for about half the class and lyra for the other half.

Intro to Aerial gives the opportunity to try both apparatuses and learn the basics such as how to climb silks and mount the lyra.

Intro to Aerial: Tuesdays 5:40 pm

Level 1/2: Tuesdays 4:30 pm

All Levels: Thursdays 10:15 am

Level 3/4: Thursdays 4:30 pm

LEvel 5+: Thursdsays 5:40 pm

Private lessons are available upon request. Contact Dana Smith to find a day/time that will work.

One on one time to learn on lyra. Lesson time can be used for learning new skills, working on a routine, or speak with your instructor about something specific you would like to learn.

One on one time to learn on both lyra and silks. Lessons will be split to approximately half each. Lesson time can be used for learning new skills, working on a routine, or speak with your instructor about something specific you would like to learn.

Silks

Aerial silks, also know as fabric, tissue, scarves and other names, is an apparatus that hangs from the ceiling. You climb, tie foot knots and learn different tricks while off the ground.

Everyone must take Intro to Aerial unless given permission from the instructor.

Lyra

Lyra, also known as aerial hoop, ring, or other names, is a circular apparatus made of steel or aluminum. Although it may resemble a hula hoop, it would not be fun to hula hoop with. It can have a single tab, double tab, or be tabless. There are many beautiful shapes and poses that can be made on this apparatus. in, below, and above the hoop.

Everyone must take Intro to Aerial unless given permission from the instructor.

Acrobalance

This is a ground class. We will take turns flying and basing, everyone is expected to try all parts. We will work on partner acrobalance, group acrobalance, strength training, flexibility, and some individual acrobatics as well. Tami will be leading this class.
